Brittnee Pool Gillett

Brittnee Pool Gillett

After having experienced several practice areas at the start of her legal career, Brittnee tailored her practice to estate planning and estate administration. Brittnee's passion is to build meaningful and lasting relationships with her clients and to guide them through estate-related issues in a manner that achieves their goals and reduces uncertainty, ultimately bringing peace of mind about the future for their families. Brittnee strives to provide compassionate legal services to her clients and to make the process as efficient and manageable as possible, understanding the sensitivity inherent in all estate-related issues.

Currently, Brittnee is serving as the Chair of the ABA Young Lawyer's Division Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Committee for the 2024-2025 term. While a student at the Joseph F. Rice School of Law at the University of South Carolina, Brittnee served as a Research Editor on the Editorial Board of the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal and co-authored two articles with Professor Rick Handel for Tax Notes Magazine: (1) MTC Draft Policy on P.L. 86-272: Electronic Communications Concerns; and (2) MTC Draft Policy on P.L. 86-272: Marketplace Facilitator Concerns. Additionally, Brittnee was a recipient of CALI Awards in Taxation of Property Transactions, Intellectual Property, and State and Local Taxation.

Brittnee did not have the traditional journey to law school and was an orchestral musician prior to embarking on her legal career. As an orchestral musician, Brittnee had the opportunity to play at world renowned concert halls throughout North America, including New York's Carnegie Hall and Boston's Symphony Hall, and learned valuable skills that she uses in her everyday practice.

Outside of the office, Brittnee is an avid runner, and on the weekends, you will likely find her running through Charlotte or the Lake Norman area. Otherwise, Brittnee enjoys teaching clarinet lessons, traveling, and spending time with her husband, family, and two pups.
